Practice areas
Three kinds of work, done properly.
A small practice by choice. If your matter falls outside these areas, we will tell you on the first call and point you to someone who does it well.
-
01 / 03
Contracts & commercial
Agreements drafted and reviewed so the terms still work when something goes wrong, not just on the day you sign.
-
02 / 03
Property & conveyancing
Transfers, leases and bond registrations handled end to end. Costs quoted in writing before you sign the offer.
-
03 / 03
Disputes & litigation
Negotiation first, court when it is genuinely the better answer for you. You will know the likely cost of each route before you choose.
How a matter runs
You will always know what happens next.
Four steps, the same on every matter. Nothing starts, and nothing is billed, until you have agreed the scope and the cost in writing.

Three attorneys, no juniors learning on your file. Each matter is led by one of us from the first call to the final signature.
-
Founding director
Eleanor Ashcombe
Property and conveyancing. Has registered more transfers than anyone she knows, and still reads every deed twice.
-
Director
Daniel Okafor
Disputes and litigation. Settles most matters with one well-built letter, and is very good in court when that letter is ignored.
-
Senior associate
Priya Raman
Contracts and commercial. Writes agreements founders can actually read, and that still hold when the business changes.
Meet the practice
A first meeting, as it really looks.
Your documents read before you arrive, then walked through clause by clause, across one desk, in plain language.
What clients say, and what happened
They read the lease properly, told me in plain language what to change, and the deal closed a week later.
-
Commercial lease

Annual rent escalation capped for a growing retailer, down from an open-ended clause.

Is my matter too small for a law firm?
Probably not. A lot of our work is a single lease, one contract or one letter. If it really is something you can handle yourself, we will tell you on the first call, and that call is free.
What will this actually cost me?
The consultation is a fixed $350. After it, you get a written plan with the cost of each option. Most work is then fixed-fee or capped, and nothing is billed that you have not agreed in writing first.
Can we do everything by video call?
Almost everything. Meetings, document reviews and most signings can happen remotely. A few documents need an original signature, and we will tell you which ones well in advance.
How fast will I hear back?
Within one working day, from the attorney on your matter, not a call centre. Urgent matters, such as a court deadline, are answered the same day.
What if you are not the right firm for it?
Then we say so on the first call and refer you to someone we trust. You will not pay for a consultation we should not have booked.
What should I bring to the first meeting?
Whatever you have: the contract, the letter, the emails. Send them when you book and we will have read them before we meet, at no extra charge.
